1. Introduction & Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how HFT EDGE (“HFT EDGE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you visit our website at hftsync.com (the “Site”), engage our infrastructure and setup services, access our data feeds, or enroll in our mentorship program (collectively, the “Services”).
HFT EDGE is a provider of high-frequency trading software, market-data infrastructure, and trader education. We are headquartered in Canada, with operations across North America. We are a technology and education company — we are not a broker, dealer, exchange, investment adviser, or money manager, and we do not hold, transmit, or custody your funds or securities.
This policy describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site or Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions.
2. Information We Collect
We aim to collect only the information we genuinely need to deliver and support the Services. The categories of information we may collect include:
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact & identity data — name, email address, country/location, Telegram handle, and any details you include when you message us, request access, or join our channel.
- Account & onboarding data — if you become a client, information needed to configure and support your setup (e.g., preferred platforms, broker connectivity preferences, VPS region).
- Payment data — billing name and country. We do not collect or store full card numbers or banking credentials; payments are processed by regulated third-party payment providers.
- Support communications — the content of messages, screenshots, and logs you share with us when requesting help.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring pages, pages visited, timestamps, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6 below.
2.3 Information from your use of the software
Our software runs on your own infrastructure and connects to your broker or liquidity provider using your credentials. We do not receive your trading account credentials, your trading-account balances, or your order/fill history. The software operates locally or on a server you control. We only receive limited technical data you choose to share with us (for example, a configuration file or a support log) when you request assistance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries, provide the Services, and deliver setup and onboarding support;
- To process payments, issue receipts, and maintain billing records;
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and Services;
- To analyze usage trends and measure the performance of our content;
- To send service-related, account, and policy notifications;
- To send marketing and product communications — only where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law (you can opt out at any time);
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- To comply with our legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies;
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Services you requested and to provide support;
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure our business, prevent fraud, and improve our Services, balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation — to meet applicable tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
7. Third-Party Services & Links
The Site and Services may interact with, link to, or embed content from third parties — for example brokers, liquidity providers, data-feed vendors, exchanges, messaging platforms (such as Telegram), and video platforms (such as YouTube). These third parties have their own privacy practices, and any information you provide to them is governed by their policies, not this one.
When you connect the software to a broker or data feed, that connection is made by you, on your infrastructure, and is subject to the terms of the relevant provider. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party services.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal and tax obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. After that, we either delete the information or anonymize it so it can no longer identify you. If you ask, we will delete your data where we are not legally required to retain it (see Your Privacy Rights).
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting access to personnel who need it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Trading account credentials and order data are never collected or stored by us — they remain entirely on systems you control.
10. International Data Transfers
Because we and our service providers may operate in more than one country, your information may be processed in a country different from your own, including Canada and the United States. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as standard contractual clauses) to help ensure your information receives a consistent level of protection.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access & portability — request a copy of your data, in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erasure — request deletion of your data, subject to legal exceptions;
- Restriction & objection — ask us to limit or stop certain processing;
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for processing based on consent (including marketing) at any time;
- Opt-out of sale / sharing — we do not sell personal information; under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, residents of certain U.S. states also have specific rights to limit certain processing and to non-discrimination for exercising them.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@hftsync.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may verify your identity before acting on a request.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Site and Services are intended for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18, and the Services are not intended for use by minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as on the Site or via email, where appropriate). We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site or Services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
